ONE of the world’s most respected authorities on sustainability, green finance and responsible investment was in Dublin today for an exclusive roundtable discussion hosted by Sustainable Nation Ireland.
Professor Alexander Bassen is a member of Chancellor Merkel’s 15-person Council for Sustainable Development, and co-chair of the UN Principles of Responsible Investment (UNPRI) Academic Network Steering Group.
He is also a member of the advisory panel for sustainability of Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management (Deutsche Bank) and professor of capital markets and management at the University of Hamburg.
Professor Bassen’s research interests are responsible investment, corporate governance and sustainability reporting. He is considered a global authority in his field.
As part of the Year of Sustainable Business 2018, Sustainable Nation Ireland (SNI) is inviting global leaders in their field to Ireland to share their leadership insights and expertise.
Professor Bassen’s visit to Dublin builds on the successful Green Embassy Dialogue series that saw events hosted by the Irish embassies in Berlin and London in late 2017.
The roundtable held at the Dublin offices of KBI Global Investors focussed on green finance and sustainability. Professor Bassen also shared valuable insight into German government and international policy development in this area.
Professor Bassen was heavily involved in the recent creation of the German Hub for Sustainable Finance in Frankfurt.
