The role of private capital in meeting Ireland’s decarbonisation targets will be a key focus on 2nd May as Ireland’s financial services minister Michael D’Arcy opens an important event on the topic.
Mobilising private capital investment in sustainable infrastructure is a hot topic globally and the purpose of this Dublin event is to highlight the opportunity for Ireland to secure international and local capital to finance its own needs.
Attendees will hear from Deloitte regarding the opportunity for private capital investment to meet the gap between Irish Government spending commitments and the overall investment required to meet our 2030 decarbonisation targets.
Ireland’s sustainable infrastructure requirements will cut across a number of sectors, including energy generation and storage, heat, transport, waste, water, forestry and buildings.
Those attending the event include policy makers, international and local investors and investment managers, lenders, corporate finance advisers, professional services and sustainable infrastructure project developers.
Hosted by Sustainable Nation Ireland, the ‘Mobilising Private Capital for Ireland’s Sustainable Infrastructure Needs’ event is supported by the Department of Finance under the IFS 2020 Strategy Action Plan 2018.
Sustainable Nation is delighted to be bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the role of private capital in meeting Ireland’s decarbonisation targets and sustainable infrastructure investment needs.
The event will first hear from international investors and lenders with regard to their sector’s needs from an investment decision making perspective. It will then hear from investors who have already invested locally in Irish sustainable infrastructure on their experience.
For Sustainable Nation Ireland, this event is timely, and we look forward to constructive debates on how Ireland can best position itself to accelerate capital deployment in low-carbon infrastructure.
A key objective of Sustainable Nation’s initiative Finance Green Ireland is to accelerate and mobilise the deployment of private capital for the benefit of Ireland. This event is an output of Finance Green Ireland.
Tomorrow’s event is supported by AIB, Deloitte, McCann Fitzgerald, Coillte and KPMG.
