Financial Disclosures on Climate Risk

Forming part of #sustainablefinance day, Sustainable Nation’s Laura Heuston will open a breakfast seminar tomorrow that tackles the subject of financial disclosures on climate risk and poses the question: ‘is your company ready?’

Co-hosted by Ireland’s Sustainable & Responsible Investment Forum (SIF Ireland) and CDP Ireland, the event will hear from Jane Ambachtsheer, Partner, Mercer Investments and also a member of the global Financial Stability Board’s Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

One of the most significant, and perhaps most misunderstood, risks that organisations face today relates to climate change. The TCFD is an industry-led initiative that has developed a set of recommendations for

voluntary consistent climate-related financial risk disclosures for use by companies in providing information to investors, lenders, insurers, and other stakeholders.

With the EU publicly supporting the recommendations and looking at a review of its regulations and legislation, as well as increasing pressure from the investor community, companies need to be prepared to disclose information on the financial risks and opportunities that climate change creates.

This event will be of interest to Irish listed companies and the Irish subsidiaries of international listed companies, along with other leading members of the Irish business community, policymakers and regulators.

Held at the Royal College of Physicians, 6 Kildare St, Dublin, the event opens for registration at 7.30am and begin at 8am sharp.

The event is kindly supported by Kingspan.
