Every company – from start-up to established – wants to have long term sustainable success. Our Sustainable Business platform – 2oPlatform – supports companies at all levels of maturity in a structured way in support of their efforts to do business responsibly and take action for a more sustainable future.
The purpose of the 2oPlatform is to connect ideas, innovation, talent and know-how with capital to ultimately do business at a local and global level, while contributing to a low-carbon, resource efficient and circular economy.
Ireland is already strongly represented in the cleantech space. A cluster of over 350 Irish companies lead the way in creating and deploying innovative ideas and products to solve global sustainability challenges.
For entrepreneurs and innovators, investment in low-carbon projects is driving the need for new products and services. Our 2oPlatform supports these SMEs in a structured way to help grow their businesses, turning Ireland’s smartest sustainability and low-carbon ideas and products into commercial reality. Relevant programmes include 2oCamp, ClimateLaunchpad, Accelerator or 2oCatalyst.
Established businesses are being asked to have less impact on the environment but are expected to improve profitability and increase market share. Investors are demanding this. By integrating sustainability into their operations, businesses are managing these long-term risks and strengthening financial stability. Doing this requires the right support. Our 2oPlatform offers this support through programmes such as the 40for30 Leadership Network, IdeasPad and our Leadership Series.
Sustainable Nation manages Climate-KIC’s Irish office as part of the UK and Ireland Climate-KIC hub.
Ireland is one of four climate-focused innovation ‘clusters’ in the UK and Ireland supported through Climate-KIC’s programme of start-up support and innovation programmes, with other centres located in London, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
We are working in partnership with Climate-KIC to bring world-class resources, opportunities and thousands of Euros to Irish businesses and entrepreneurs, to build their capacity and connect them with a dynamic, thriving, innovating global network and ecosystem.
Climate-KIC is Europe’s largest public-private innovation partnership, driving innovation in climate change through creative partnerships large and small, local and global, between the private, public and academic sectors. It plays the role of innovation engine, matching and nurturing supply and demand and adding value through each stage of the climate innovation process. Partners bring their industry experience to the community and are connected through Climate-KIC’s centres across Europe.
Together we are developing a climate innovation cluster to create jobs and growth, reduce emissions and strengthen resilience.
